Under Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, TXM main menu is not displayed and 2 icons are displayed in the OS X launcher

Description

TXM main menu is not displayed

Under Mac OS X, since version 10.9 (Mavericks), menu display has a new behavior leading to the fact that the TXM menu is not displayed.
A maybe linked bug is there are 2 TXM icons attached to the dock launcher instead of only 1 (the TXM plus the .app icon).

Temporary workaround

Currently, the user can first select another app, then select TXM to enable TXM main menu.

Solution

Do not use the Eclipse native launcher but directly run the Eclipse .jar launcher.

Validation test

  • install TXM 0.7.7beta under MAC OS X
  • run TXM
  • TXM menu must appear after TXM UI is initialized
  • There must be only one icon attached to the dock launcher
  • please provide the exact OS X version used for the tests

TXM main menu is not displayed. This is due to a new behavior in Mac OS X 10.9 menus.

The user needs to select another app, then reselect TXM to enable TXM main menu.

Since we do not use the Eclipse native launcher anymore with Mac OS X, see: http://forge.cbp.ens-lyon.fr/redmine/issues/989, this bug does not occur anymore.
Need some feedback to validate this point.
